Why French INPI matters, especially if we already monitor WIPO and EUIPO filings?
France has a very active national trademark system of its own. In 2025 alone, more than 103,000 trademark applications were filed directly through INPI, separate from EU trademarks filed through EUIPO and international Madrid registrations designating France.
That means monitoring EUIPO and WIPO alone still leaves a substantial stream of French national trademark filings uncovered.
What it looks like in practice: French trademark matches in the BrandCat results view
The France INPI source can be selected in the trademark-office filter with the rest of BrandCat's coverage. Results show the trademark, owner or applicant, Nice classes, application or registration number, filing date, opposition information where present, and current status.

Dates and opposition periods
Once you determine that a filing may represent a risk to your brand, the opposition deadline is probably the most important date in the record. If you miss it, opposing the filing can become a bit more complicated.
